Meet Our Director, Taylor Quinn
Meet Our Accompanist, Elise Kartheiser
Elise Kartheiser has been performing piano since she was in grade school. Beginning at the Yamaha piano school, Elise studied with great local teachers, Herbert Wigley and Bernard Weiser. She continued her piano studies with Seymour Lipkin, teacher at the Juilliard School, and at the Curtis Institute. Along side her piano studies she majored in violin performance at Temple University. Numerous awards in High School included the MMTA's young musician of the year in 1989, and placements in the Minnesota Orchestra’s (YPSCA) concerto auditions granted her performances at Orchestra Hall and O'Shaughnessy auditorium. After earning her BA in piano performance with Lydia Artymiw at the University of Minnesota, Elise devoted her time to teaching piano at various studios and her family. Elise performs with two local orchestras - The Health Science Orchestra of the University of MN, and Dakota Valley Symphony where she usually plays first violin. Her love for music is about the process of creating music, the performance is the frosting on the cake!
