We are happy to present our 24th season of Spring Concert: Fins, Feathers, and Dreams - Folk Songs of our World. This program was originally envisioned by our director, Monte Mason before his unexpected long-term hospitalization. Fortunately, our renowned pianist/conductor, Robert Nagoonanan stepped into the interim director position and brought Monte’s artistic vision to fulfilment.  

In this program we will take you to a journey around the world and across a range of emotions, featuring European folk music from Britain, Georgia, and Ukraine.  Also, African folk music from Ghana and South Africa, music from Japan and Oceania, as well as a broad collection of North and South American folk music from European, African, and Latino traditions. We hope that you enjoy this journey, and our common humanity outweighs our differences.
